Investigation to be launched into the ‘origins of COVID’

CNN is reporting that thousands of blood samples from Wuhan in China will be tested in an investigation into the origins of COVID-19.

These tested samples could contain crucial signs of the first antibodies made by humans against the virus.

This may also help explain the timing of the outbreak in late 2019.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) investigators identified the samples, which as possibly being key in discovering when and where the coronavirus first infected humans.

Maureen Miller, an associate professor of epidemiology at Columbia University, claimed they will contain “vital clues”.

She also added that China needs to allow “qualified observers” to watch the process.

An official from China is believed to have told CNN that preparation for testing is under way and will happen once the two-year limit was reached.

In July this year, WHO said it wants to launch a second probe into the origins of the virus in China.
