WHERE ARE THEY NOW?: MICHELLE COLLINS

Old school Eastenders fans will remember Michelle Collins who played Cindy Beale in Eastenders. She was known for having many romantic and steamy relationships while living in Albert Square during the late eighties and nineties.

She had constantly tried to settle down her devilish ways with a marriage to Ian Beale (played by Adam Woodyatt who still remains in the show), however she always found it almost impossible to remain faithful to him and always often found herself in bed with one of Eastenders other male studs of Albert Square. She was one of the most loved-to-hate characters in the history of the show and one that we wish could make a comeback! However it would be hard (although not impossible as we have seen it done) as her character was eventually killed off.

Michelle Collins now

Michelle Collins played the role of Cindy Beale for a total of nearly ten years. Following this she moved over to BBC One’s long time soap opera rival – Coronation Street. However, due to a lack of airtime apparently she decided to leave after just two years in it on total. Her impact at Corrie did not come close to the role of Cindy Beale. Following that, she also made a six appearances in another BBC One show – Casualty.

She also guest starred in a live theatre production of the classic tale of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. She also played the role of Sheila Grundy in The Demolition Man in Octagon Theatre in Bolton which was the same venue. Her last active year was 2016 as she appeared in Annette Burgess and in 2016 as Nadine Campbell in an episode of Midsomer Murders. In 2016, Collins also took part in the ITV reality series Bear Grylls: Mission Survive.
