An intense heatwave is affecting parts of Europe this week as temperatures soar into the 40s in some countries.
June records have already been broken and more likely to within the next 48 hours. Schools have been forced to close in France as the record breaking heatwave hits Europe.
Yesterday Germany hit a 38.6C, Poland reached 38.2C and the Czech Republic 38.9C- all breaking records in their respective countries.
France could possibly hit an all time record with a blistering 44.1C tomorrow according to reports. The hot air will arrive in the U.K. on Saturday with temperatures expected to reach at least 34C.
As the quarter finals of the Women’s World Cup approach, this heat wave will add another massive hurdle for the players and teams hoping to win the most coveted prize in Women’s football.
Meteorologists have been blaming a blast of hot air from the Sahara for the early summer heatwave, usually temperatures do not reach this height until July or August.
Some experts have said that heatwaves early in the Northern Hemisphere summer are likely to become more frequent as the planet heats up largely due to humans usage of fossil fuels.
